GDCI student awarded one of Canada's most coveted STEM Scholarships

GDCI Student Emma Davison has been awarded a Schulich Leader Scholarships valued at $80,000.

One hundred are awarded to entrepreneurial-minded high school graduates enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) program at 20 partner universities across Canada. Fifty are valued at $100,000 for engineering scholarships and fifty are valued at $80,000 for science and math scholarships.

Every high school in Canada can nominate one graduating student each year to apply for the scholarship. Emma is the very first student from Goderich Collegiate District Institute to receive this award.

"I am going into Bachelor of Science Honours at Queen's University in Kingston.I am hoping to study Biochemistry and work towards a Master's degree and a PhD, however I do not know what exactly I want to pursue. I love science and the idea of changing the world on a monumental level through this passion is what drives me forward. There are endless careers in STEM and I am excited to discover what the world has to offer!" - Emma Davison
