Hello Viking Families,
We are pleased to welcome guest speaker Tyler Smith to our school to present to all of our students.
Tyler, winner of The Amazing Race Canada Season 9, is a survivor of the 2018 Humboldt Broncos bus crash that claimed the lives of 16 teammates, staff, and coaches. He is the founder of Not Alone Co., a mental health awareness clothing line dedicated to facilitating conversations around trauma, PTSD, and mental health. Tyler co-hosts the podcast Speak Your Mind with NHL veteran Riley Sheahan, normalizing discussions about mental health with guests from sports, entertainment, and beyond. Through public speaking and advocacy, Tyler inspires individuals and communities to embrace vulnerability, build connections, and create safe spaces for healing and hope (Tyler Smith website).

This opportunity has been made available to all students in our secondary schools in both Huron and Perth counties, through the Proceeds of Crime-School Safety Grants (Goderich & Central Huron, & Huron OPP) and the Ministry of Education- Mental Health Strategy Supports funding.
AMDSB Mental Health and Well-being counselors will be at the school during this time should any student require support. If your child will not be attending, please report their absence as usual.
